ζῷον ἔστι Παιονικόν, καὶ κέκληται μόνωψ, καὶ ἔοικε ταύρῳ λασίῳ τὸ μέγεθος. οὗτος οὖν ὅταν διώκηται, ταραττόμενος ἀφίησι πυρῶδες καὶ δριμὺ ἀποπάτημα, ὡς ἀκούω, ὅπερ οὖν εἰ προσπέσοι τῳ τῶν θηρατῶν ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτόν.
