Ἐπιστάσεως δὲ ἄξιον, ὅτι ὁ πυρετὸς οὐκ ἔστιν οὐδενὸς ἢ μόνων τῶν σώματος, ἃ καὶ κυρίως ἔστι τε καὶ λέγεται ἔμψυχα· οὔτε γὰρ τὸ ἐν ἡμῖν πνεῦμα κυρίως, οὔθ᾽ οἱ χυμοί, μόνα δὲ πυρέττει τὰ τοῦ σώματος μόρια, ἅπερ καὶ ὄργανα τῶν παρ’ ἡμῖν εἰσιν ἐνεργειῶν, εἰκότως.
