Ἐκ δὲ τούτων φανερόν, ὅτι τῶν πυρετῶν οἱ μέν εἰσι γιγνόμενοι, οἱ δὲ γεγονότες, ὥσπερ καὶ τῶν νόσων αἱ μέν εἰσι γεγονυῖαι, αἱ δὲ γιγνόμεναι, ὧν τὸ μὲν γέγονε, τὸ δὲ γενήσεται· καὶ οὔπω λέγω, ὅτι καὶ οὔπω ὄντες τινές εἰσιν, ἐσόμενοι δέ, ἐκ τῆς κατὰ τὸ σῶμα διαθέσεως. Ἀλλὰ ταῦτα μὲν ἐν ἄλλοις, ῥηθήσεται δ᾽ ἴσως σὴν χάριν καὶ μετρίως ἐν τοῖς ἑξῆς.
