.. πολίτην πτωχαλαζόν' οἶδ' ἐγώ,
ὃς ἔχων δραχμῆς ἅπαντα τἀργυρώματα
ἐβόα καλῶν τὸν παῖδ', ἕν' ὄντα καὶ μόνον,
ὀνόμασι δὲ ψαμμακοσίοισι χρώμενον,
’παῖ Στρομβιχίδη, τῶν ἀργυρωμάτων σὺ μὴ
τῶν χειμερινῶν νῦν, ἀλλὰ τῶν θερινῶν’ ἔφη
’παράθες’.
