Ἄλεξις δ ̓ ὁ Σάμιος ἐν δευτέρῳ Ὥρων Σαμιακῶν· «Τὴν ἐν Σάμῳ Ἀφροδίτην, ἣν οἱ μὲν ἐν Καλάμοις καλοῦσιν, οἱ δὲ ἐν Ἕλει, Ἀττικαὶ, φησὶν, ἑταῖραι ἱδρύσαντο αἱ συνακολουθήσασαι Περικλεῖ, ὅτε ἐπολιόρκει τὴν Σάμον, ἐργασάμεναι ἱκανῶς ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας.»
