ἴαθι καὶ γίν⌞ου⌟ διαφέρει. ἴσθι μὲν γὰρ ἐπὶ τοῦ γίνωσκε τάσσεται· ‘αὐτὴ δʼ οἴη ἴαθι’ (β 356) ἀντὶ τοῦ γίνωσκε. καὶ τὸ πλῆθος ἴσθε ἀντὶ τοῦ γινώσκετε. καὶ Μένανδρος ἐν Ἥρωϊ (Herois fr. 5 Koerte3) ‘εὖ ἴσθι, κἀγὼ τοῦτο συγχωρήσομαιʼ. τάσσουσι δὲ ὅμως καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ γίνου τὸ ἴαθι· Σοφοκλῆς (fr. 437 N. 2) ἐν Παλαμήδῃ ‘εὔφημος ἴσθι μοῦνον ἐξορμωμένη’, ἀντὶ τοῦ γίνου.
