Τά γε μὴν Ἀμφικράτους τοιαῦτα καὶ Ἡγησίον καὶ Μάτριδος. Πολλαχοῦ γὰρ ἐνθουσιᾶν ἑαυτοῖς δοκοῦντες, οὐ βακχεύουσιν, ἀλλὰ παίζουσιν. Cf. id. ib. 4,4: Ἀμφικράτει καὶ οὐ Ξενοφῶντι (Rep. Lac.) ἔπρεπε τὰς ἐν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν κόρας λέγειν παρθένους αἰδήμονας.
