4. Πάλιν δὲ τῶν τριῶν ἠπείρων ἡ μὲν Εὐρώπη πρὸς ἄρκτους καὶ δύσεις ἐστὶ πᾶσα, ἡ δὲ Λιβύη πρὸς μεσημβρίαν καὶ δύσιν, ἡ δὲ Ἀσία πρὸς τὰς ἀνατολὰς κειμένη ἀντιπαρήκει ταῖς δύο ἠπείροις· ἀπὸ γὰρ τῶν βορειοτάτων ἐπὶ τὰ νοτιώτατα τῆς ἐγνωσμένης ἐκτείνεται.
