170—173. Ἀρτίως δὲ ἁπάσης τῆς ἠπείρου, ὃ ἔστι τῆς γῆς, μορφὴν λέξω, ἵνα εὔφραστον αἴσθησιν καὶ εὐσύνοπτον γνῶσιν καίπερ μὴ ἰδὼν ἔχῃς. Ἐκ τούτου γὰρ τοῦ εἰδέναι σε τὰ τῆς γῆς σχήματα καὶ μέτρα παῤ ἀνδρὶ μὴ γινώσκοντι καὶ ἀνεπιστήμονι ἢ μηδὲν εἰδότι ἕκαστα φανεροποιῶν καὶ κατὰ μέρος καὶ ἁρμοδίως λέγων ἐντιμότερος ἂν ὑπάρχοις καὶ αἰδοῦς καὶ ἐντροπῆς ἄξιος.
