ὁ βασιλεὺς Δημήτριος ἐχαρίσατο Φιλωνίδει, ἐφ' ὧι συνδιατρίψει αὐτοῦ καὶ συσχολάσει. Ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐν τούτοις καλῶς καὶ φιλοσόφως καὶ ἐνδόξως ἀνεστράφη. Εἰς μὲν γὰρ συμβούλιον καὶ πρεσβείαν καὶ τὰ τοιαῦθ' ἁπλῶς αὑτὸν οὐκ ἔδωκεν, ησε δὲ τ εν των πατ πεον vestiges μαινα νας πάντων, Καρνεάδου καὶ τῶν ἄλλων, πατρίδι χρήσιμος ἐγένετο
