Βρέττος πόλις Τυῤῥηνῶν, ἀπὸ Βρέττου τοῦ Ἡρακλέους, καὶ Βαλητίας τῆς Βαλήτου. Οἱ οἰκοῦντες Βρέττιοι, καὶ ἡ χώρα Βρεττία, καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα.— Ἀντίοχος δὲ τὴν Ἰταλίαν πρῶτόν φησι κληθῆναι Βρεττίαν, εἶτα Οἰνωτρίαν.
