Ἀπολλόδωρος δὲ ἐπιτιμᾷ Καλλιμάχῳ, συνηγορῶν τοῖς περὶ Ἐρατοσθένη, διότι, καίπερ γραμματικὸς ὣν, παρὰ τὴν Ὁμηρικὴν ὑπόθεσιν καὶ τὸν ἐξωκεανισμὸν τῶν τόπων περὶ οὓς τὴν πλάνην φράζει, Γαῦδον (Heyn. Γαῦλον) καὶ Κόρκυραν ὀνομάζει.
