Argum. Hes. Scut. (edit. Goettl. p. 108.): Τῆς Ἀσπίδος ἡ ἀρχὴ ἐν τῷ δʹ καταλόγῳ φέρεται μέχρι στίχων νʹ καὶ ϛʹ. ὑπώπτευκε δὲ Ἀριστοφάνης οὐχ ὁ κωμικός, ἀλλά τις ἕτερος γραμματικὸς ὡς οὐκ οὖσαν αὐτὴν Ἡσιόδου, ἀλλ' ἑτέρου τινὸς τὴν Ὁμηρικὴν ἀσπίδα μιμήσασθαι προαιρουμένου.
