AELIAN. V. H. 12, 5 (14, 35): ὅτι Λαὶς ἡ ἑταίρα, ὥς φησιν Ἀριστοφάνης ὁ Βυζάντιος, καὶ Ἀξίνη ἐκαλεῖτο. ἤλεγχε δὲ αὐτῆς τὸ ἐπώνυμον τοῦτο τὴν τοῦ ἤθους ἀγριότητα καὶ ὅτι πολὺ ἐπράττετο, καὶ ἔτι μᾶλλον παρὰ τῶν ξένων, ἅτε ἀπαλλαττομένων θᾶττον.
