(20) τὸ δὲ λεγόμενον ἐπίπλοον ἀπὸ μὲν τῆς ἄνω κοιλίας ἤρτηται, ἔστι δὲ τὴν φύσιν ὑμὴν πιμελώδης. ὑπεράνω δὲ τῶν ἐντέρων τὸ μέσον ὑμενῶδές ἐστι καὶ πῖον, ἐξήρτηται δὲ ἐκ τῆς μεγάλης φλεβὸς καὶ τῆς καλουμένης ἀορτῆς, καὶ διὰ τούτου φλέβες πολλαὶ καὶ λεπταὶ κατατείνουσι πρὸς τὴν τῶν ἐντέρων φύσιν. τὰ μὲν οὖν περὶ τὸν στόμαχον καὶ ἀρτηρίαν καὶ ἔτι περὶ τὴν κοιλίαν καὶ ἔντερα τοιοῦτον ἔχει τὸν τρόπον.
