(253) Ἔχθιστον δὲ τῇ παρδάλει ἡ ὕαινα. (254) Ἄμπελον δὲ ὁμώνυμον τῷ φυτῷ πάρδαλίν τινα οὕτω καλεῖσθαί φασι φύσεως ἰδίας μετεληχυῖαν, καὶ οὐρὰν οὐκ ἔχειν ἀκούω αὐτήν· καὶ εἰ ὀφθῇ γυναικί, εἰς νόσον ἀδόκητον ἐμβάλλει αὐτήν. (255) Πάρδαλις δὲ Καρικὴ καὶ Λυκιακὴ οὐκ ἔστι θυμική, οὐδὲ ἁλτικὴ σφόδρα, τὸ σῶμα δὲ μακρά, ἀντίτυπος δὲ τῇ φθορᾷ καὶ οὐ ῥφδίως τῷ σιδήρῳ εἴκουσα. (256) Ἔστι δὲ τὸ ζῷον ἡ πάρδαλις τῶν καρχαροδόντων.
