(26) ἔτι δὲ τῶν ζῴων τὰ μέν ἐστι πολιτικά, ὡς μέλιττα καὶ μύρμηξ, τὰ δὲ ἐπιδημητικά, ὡς γέρανος καὶ ἄλλα, τὰ δὲ οἰκητικά, ὡς ἀσπάλαξ, τὰ δὲ ἄοικα, ὡς τὸ τῶν ἀκρίδων γένος. | ἔτι δὲ καὶ τῶν ζῴων ἃ μὲν ἀεὶ ἥμερα, ὡς ἄνθρωπος καὶ ὀρεύς, ἃ δὲ ἀεὶ ἄγρια, ὡς πάρδαλις καὶ λύκος, ἃ δὲ ἐξημερούμενα, ὡς ἐλέφας καὶ ἕτερα πλείονα.
