(43) Ὅτι, φησί, πλησίον τῶν ἀδίψων ἰχθυοφάγων οἱ κατοικοῦντες ὥσπερ ἀπαραβάτων σπονδῶν μεταξὺ τεθέντων αὐτῶν τε καὶ τῶν φωκῶν, οὔτε αὐτοὶ τὰς φώκας σίνονται οὐδὲ ὑπ᾿ ἐκείνων οὗτοι βλάπτονται, ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀλλήλων θήρας ἀνεπιβουλεύτους τῷ θηράσαντι ἑκάτερον γένος συντηρεῖ, καὶ συναναστρέφονται οὕτως ἀλλήλοις ὡς μόλις ἂν εὑρεθεῖεν πρὸς ἀνθρώπους συμβιοῦντες ἄνθρωποι.
