(56) αἴτιος δὲ γίνεται τῆς ἀπηξίας τοῦ σπέρματος ὁ ἐνυπάρχων ἐν αὐτῷ ἀήρ· πᾶς γὰρ ἀὴρ ἂπηκτος. ἔοικε δέ, φησί. τὸ λεγόμενον ὑφ’ ἡμῶν μηδὲ τοὺς ἀρχαίους λεληθέναι, ὡς ἀφρώδης ἐστὶν ἡ τοῦ σπέρματος φύσις· τὴν γὰρ δεσπόζουσαν τῆς μίξεως θεὸν Ἀφροδίτην προσηγόρευσαν οὐκ ἐξ ἑτέρου ἀλλ’ ἐξ ἀφροῦ.
