Σόλων μὲν οὖν οὕτως ἐνομοθέτησεν περὶ τῶν ἐννέα ἀρχόντων· τὸ γὰρ ἀρχαῖον ἡ ἐν Ἀρείῳ πάγῳ βουλή, ἀνακαλεσαμένη καὶ κρίνασα καθʼ αὑτήν, τὸν ἐπιτήδειον ἐφʼ ἑκάστῃ τῶν ἀρχῶν ἐπʼ ἐνιαυτὸν διατάξασα ἀπέστελλεν.
