οἱ δευτεροστάται δὲ καὶ οἱ τῆς τρίτης καὶ τετάρτης τάξεως ἐς ἀκοντισμὸν προβεβλήσθων τοὺς κοντοὺς ὅπου τύχοιεν, καὶ ἵππους τρώσοντες, καὶ ἱππότην κατακανοῦντες, ἢ θυρεῷ καὶ θώρακι ἐμπαγέντος τοῦ κοντοῦ καὶ διὰ μαλθακότητα τοῦ σιδήρου ἐπικαμφθέντος ἀχρεῖον τὸν ἀναβάτην ποιήσοντες. αἱ δὲ ἐφεξῆς τάξεις λογχοφόρων ἔστων.
