Καὶ ὁ τέταρτος Ἄγγελος. Ἴσως μὲν καὶ αἰσθητῶς τοῦ ἡλίου φλογμῷ τὸ τηνικαῦτα καυματισθήσονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι, ἵνα πρὸς μετάνοιαν ἔλθωσιν. ἴσως δὲ διὰ τοῦ ἡλίου καὶ τὸν τῆς ἡμέρας δρόμον αἰνίττεται, καὶ τῷ τῶν πειρασμῶν καύσωνι, τοὺς ἀξίους μαστίγων φησὶ καυματίζεσθαι, ἵνα τῇ τῶν ἀλγεινῶν ἐπαγωγῇ τὴν ἁμαρτίαν μισήσωσιν. ἀλλ’ οἱ ἄφρονες, ἀντὶ τῆς τῶν οἰκείων πταισμάτων ἐπιγνωμοσύνης, κατὰ Θεοῦ τὴν γλῶσσαν ἀκονήσουσι, τὴν θείαν αἰτιώμενοι ἀγαθότητα.
