Συμβουλεύω σοι. Εἰ πλουτίσαι βούλει φησὶ, παρ’ ἐμοῦ τοῦ πλουτίζοντος κτῆσαι, προθέσει ζεούσῃ καὶ καρδίᾳ θελούσῃ, χρυσίον πεπυρωμένον, τὸν διδασκαλικὸν λόγον τὸν τῷ πυρὶ τῶν πειρασμῶν λαμπρυνόμενον, δι’ οὗ ἕξεις ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ τὸν θησαυρὸν ἄσυλον, καὶ περιβάλῃ τὴν στολὴν τῶν ἀρετῶν τὴν ὑπέρλαμπρον, δι’ ἧς ἡ προσγενομένη σοι ἐξ ἁμαρτίας ἀμφιασθήσεται γύμνωσις. κολλύριον δέ ἐστιν ἡ ἀκτημοσύνη· εἰ γὰρ δῶρα ἐκτυφλοῖ ὀφθαλμοὺς βλεπόντων, τουτους πάντως ἀνοίξει τὸ ἀδωροδόκητον.
