Καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις. Καὶ διὰ τούτων ἡ ὑπερβολὴ σημαίνεται τῶν κολάσεων· ἔθος γὰρ τοῖς ἐν ὀδύναις ἐπικαλεῖσθαι τὸν θάνατον. τὸ δὲ τοῖς αἰτοῦσι τοῦτον ἀνωδύνως μὴ παραγίνεσθαι, τῶν θείων κριμάτων ἤρτηται, οἷς λυσιτελὲς κρίνεται τῇ πικρίᾳ τῶν ὀδυνηρῶν ἐπιφορῶν στυγητὴν γενέσθαι τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τὴν ἁμαρτίαν, ὡς τούτων μητέρα καὶ πρόξενον.
