Πολλῶν δὲ τούτοις συντιθεμένων οὐδετέρᾳ γνώμῃ Θήρων ἐπεψήφισε. “Σὺ μὲν γὰρ” εἶπε “κίνδυνον ἐπάγεις, σὺ δὲ κέρδος ἀπολλύεις. Ἐγὼ δὲ ἀποδώσομαι τὴν γυναῖκα μᾶλλον ἢ ἀπολῶ· πωλουμένη μὲν γὰρ σιγήσει διὰ τὸν φόβον, πραθεῖσα δὲ κατηγορείτω τῶν μὴ παρόντων. Ἀλλ’ ἐμβαίνετε· πλέωμεν· ἤδη γάρ ἐστι πρὸς ἡμέραν.”
