ὦ Χαιρέα” φησί, “τοσούτῳ διαζευχθεῖσα πάθει. Καὶ σὺ μὲν πενθεῖς καὶ μετανοεῖς καὶ τάφῳ κενῷ παρακάθησαι, μετὰ θάνατόν μοι τὴν σωφροσύνην μαρτυρῶν, ἐγὼ δὲ ἡ Ἑρμοκράτους θυγάτηρ, ἡ σὴ γυνή, δεσπότῃ σήμερον ἐπράθην.” Τοιαῦτα ὀδυρομένῃ μόλις ὕπνος ἐπῆλθεν αὐτῇ.
