Κρεῖττον οὖν μοι δοκεῖ πρὸ τοῦ γεννηθῆναι τὸ παιδίον ἢ γεννηθὲν ἀπολέσθαι· κερδανεῖς γὰρ ὠδῖνας ματαίας καὶ κυοφορίαν ἄχρηστον. Ἐγὼ δέ σε φιλοῦσα συμβουλεύω τἀληθῆ.” Βαρέως ἤκουσεν ἡ Καλλιρρόη καὶ προσπεσοῦσα τοῖς γόνασιν αὐτῆς ἱκέτευεν ὅπως συνεξεύρῃ τινὰ τέχνην,
