Εἰ γὰρ μέλλεις αὐτὸν ἀφιέναι, πολὺ βέλτιον ἦν μηδὲ καλέσαι· τότε μὲν γὰρ ἐφοβοῦντο πάντες, ὡς κολασθησομένης τῆς ἀσελγείας, ἐὰν εἰς κρίσιν εἰσέλθῃ· καταφρονήσει δὲ λοιπόν, ἐὰν κριθεὶς παρὰ σοὶ μὴ κολασθῇ. Ὁ δὲ ἐμὸς λόγος σαφής ἐστι καὶ σύντομος. Ἀνήρ εἰμι Καλλιρρόης ταύτης, ἤδη δὲ ἐξ αὐτῆς καὶ πατήρ, γήμας οὐ παρθένον, ἀλλ’ ἀνδρὸς προτέρου γενομένην, Χαιρἔου τοὔνομα, πάλαι τεθνεῶτος,
