Diog. Laërt. VII 118. ἀκιβδήλους τοὺς σπουδαίους φυλακτικούς τε εἶναι τοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ βέλτιον αὑτοὺς παριστάνειν, διὰ παρασκευῆς τῆς τὰ φαῦλα μὲν ἀποκρυπτούσης, τὰ δὲ ὑπάρχοντα ἀγαθὰ φαίνεσθαι ποιούσης. ⟨καὶ⟩ ἀπλάστους· περιῃρηκέναι γὰρ ἐν τῇ φωνῇ τὸ πλάσμα καὶ τῷ εἴδει.
