Λόγοι δέ εἰσι ῥυθμικοί, καθʼ οὓς συνίστανται οἱ ῥυθμοὶ οἱ δυνάμενοι συνεχῆ ῥυθμοποιΐαν ἐπιδέξασθαι, τρεῖς· ἴσος, διπλασίων, ἡμιόλιος. Ἐν μὲν γὰρ τῷ ἴσῳ τὸ δακτυλικὸν γίνεται γένος, ἐν δὲ τῷ διπλασίῳ τὸ ἰαμβικόν, ἐν δὲ τῷ ἡμιολίῳ τὸ παιωνικόν. —
