PLUT. Quaest. conviv. III 6, 3 p. 654B ἐμοὶ μέν, ἔφη, τὸ τοῦ Πυθαγορικοῦ Κλεινίου λίαν ἀρέσκει· λέγεται γὰρ ἐρωτηθείς, ὁπηνίκα δεῖ μάλιστα γυναικὶ προσιέναι· ‘ὅταν’ φάναι ‘μάλιστα τυγχάνηις βλαβῆναι βουλόμενος’.
