Μελέτω ὑμῖν τῆς ψυχῆς, τοῦ δὲ σώματος ὅσον ἀνάγκη, τῶν δ’ ἔξωθεν μηδ’ ὅσον· εὐδαιμονία γὰρ οὐχ ἡδονή, δι’ ἣν τῶν ἐκτὸς χρεία, ἀρετὴ δὲ μετ’ οὐδενὸς τῶν ἐκτὸς τελεία.
