Mt 11, 3 Οὐκ ἀγνοῶν εἶναι αὐτὸν τὸν Χριστὸν ἐρωτᾷ ἢ ὅτι ἤμελλεν εἰς ᾅδου κατελθεῖν, ὥς τινές φασιν· ᾔδει γὰρ τὸ πάθος αὐτοῦ. διὸ καὶ ἀμνὸν αὐτὸν ὠνόμασεν· ἀλλ' ἵνα ἔτι ζῶν πείσῃ αὐτοὺς καὶ μὴ μετὰ θάνατον αὐτοῦ προστεθῶσιν ἑτέρῳ διδασκάλῳ.
