Mt 26, 67—68 Πρέποι ἂν εἰπεῖν ὅπερ ἔφη τις τῶν ἁγίων προφητῶν· «ἐξέστη ὁ οὐρανὸς ἐπὶ τούτῳ καὶ ἔφριξεν ἐπὶ πλεῖον σφόδρα, λέγει» ὁ «κύριος» ὁ τῶν ὅλων θεός, ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν βασιλευόντων καὶ κύριος τῶν κυριευόντων· ὡς εἷς ἐξ ἡμῶν ἀτιμάζεται καὶ διακαρτερεῖ τυπτόμενος καὶ τὸν ἐκ τῶν ἀσεβῶν ὑπομένει γέλωτα τύπον ἡμῖν τῆς εἰς ἄκρον ἀνεξικακίας αὐτοῦ παρατιθείς· ὁ γὰρ «ἐξετάζων καρδίας καὶ νεφροὺς» ὁ προφητείας ἁπάσης δοτὴρ πῶς ἂν ἠγνόησε τίς ἐστιν ὁ παίσας αὐτόν;
