ὡς δὴ καὶ τότε θαρρῶν εἱπόμην. ἦν δὲ σχεδόν τι περὶ τετταράκοντα στάδια πρὸς τὸ χωρίον. ὡς οὖν ἐβαδίζομεν, διηγεῖτό μοι κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν τὰ αὑτοῦ πράγματα καὶ τὸν βίον ὃν ἔζη μετὰ γυναικὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ παίδων. ἡμεῖς γάρ, ἔφη, δύο ἐσμέν, ὦ ξένε, τὸν αὐτὸν οἰκοῦντες τόπον. ἔχομεν δὲ γυναῖκας ἀλλήλων ἀδελφὰς καὶ παῖδας ἐξ αὐτῶν υἱοὺς καὶ θυγατέρας.
