Ὅπως δὲ πάλιν εὐρίσκεταιτὸ ἐμβαδὸν τοῦ ὀκταγώνου. ποιῶ οὕτως· ἐὰν ἔχῃ τὴν διάμετρον ιβ, ταῦτα ἐφʼ ἑαυτά, γίνονται ρμδ· τούτων ὑφαιρῶ ἕκιον μέρος, γίνονται κδ· λοιπὸν μένουσιν ρκ· τοσοῦτον ἔσται τὸ ἐμβαδόν.
