Ἀπέδειξεν Ἀρχιμήδης ὅτι τὰ λ τρίγωνα ἰσόπλευρα ἴσα ἐστὶν ιγ τετραγώνοις, ἃ τῶν λ ἐστὶ μέρος τρίτον καὶ δέκατον· ποίει οὖν τὴν πλευρὰν ἐφʼ ἑαυτήν, καὶ τῶν γινομένων τὸ τρίτον καὶ δέκατον ἔσται τὸ ἐμβαδόν· τουτέστι λ τῆς μιᾶς πλευρᾶς ἐφʼ ἑαυτά, γίνονται ??· ὧν τρίτον καὶ δέκατον, γίνονται τ̣?῾· τοσοῦτον τὸ ἐμβαδόν.
