Εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ στερεόν. σύνθες τὰ ϛ τῆς κορυφῆς καὶ τὰ ξ τῆς βάσεως, γίνονται ξϚ· τούτων τὸ ἥμισυ, λγ· ἀναγεγράφθω κύκλος οὗ ἡ περίμετρος λγ· γίνεται αὐτοῦ τὸ ἐμβαδὸν πϚ U+2220 η΄. καὶ ὁμοίως ἀφαιρῶ τὰ ϛ τῆς κορυφῆς ἀπὸ τῶν ξ τῆς βάσεως, λοιπὸν νδ τούτων τὸ ἥμισυ, κζ. ἀναγεγράφθω ἕτερος κύκλος, οὗ ἡ περίμετρος κζ· γίνεται αὐτοῦ τὸ ἐμβαδὸν νη· τούτων τὸ γʹ, ιθ γ΄· ταῦτα προστιθῶ τοῖς ῆϚ U+2220΄η΄· γίνονται ὁμοῦ ρε U+2220 γʹ η΄· ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὴν κάθετον, ἐπὶ τὰ ιβ, γίνονται ασοα U+2220΄· τοσοῦτον ἔσται τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ κώνου.
