Μεῖζον τμῆμα ἡμισφαιρίου οὗ ἡ βάσις ιβ, ἡ δὲ κάθετος θ· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ στερεόν. λαμβάνω τὸ ἥμισυ τῆς βάσεως· ἐφʼ ἑαυτά, γίνονται λϛ· ταῦτα τρισσάκις, γίνονται ρη· καὶ τὴν κάθετον ἐφʼ ἑαυτήν, γίνονται κα· σύνθες ὁμοῦ, γίνονται ρπθ· ταῦτα ἐπὶ κάθετον, ἐπὶ τὰ θ, γίνονται αψα· ταῦτα ἑνδεκάκις, γίνονται α. ηψια· τούτωον τὸ κα΄, γίνονται ω̣?α. τοσοῦτον ἔσται τὸ στερεόν.
