Τεσσάρων κύκλων ἁπτομένων ἀλλήλων, εὑρεῖν τοῦ μέσου σχήματος τὸ ἐμβαδόν· ἔστωσαν δὲ αὐτῶν αἱ διάμετροι ἀνὰ ζ. ποίει οὕτως· τὴν διάμετρον ἐφʼ ἑαυτήν, γίνονται μθ· ταῦτα τρισσάκις, γίνονται ρμζ ὧν ιδʹ, ι U+2220΄· τοσοῦτον τὸ ἐμβαδόν.
