ψυχὰς πόλιν ἐὰν ἀκούσῃς, μὴ νομίσῃς πλάσματα μὴ ἔχειν. ἀπὸ γὰρ τοῦ ἑνὸς εἴδους ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὅλοςκαλεὶται. »κατέβη«, γάρ φησιν ἡ γραφή, »Ἰακὼβ εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐν ψυχαῖς ἐβδομήκοντα πέντε«, οὐχ ὅτι αἱ ψυχαὶ εἵποντο ἄνευ σωμάτων, ἀλλὰ σὺν σώμασι· ὅλον ⟨οὖν⟩ τὸν ἄνθρωπον κέκληκεν. καί »ἠμεν ἐν τῷ πλοίῳ ὡς ὀγδοήκοντα ψυχαί«, φησὶν ὁ Λουκκᾶς, ὁ συγγραψάμενος τὰς πράξεις τῶν ἀποστόλων.
