-ρουσαν. οὗτοι μὲν ἦσαν πρὸς τ[ῷ] περ[ὶ αὐ-] τῶν βουλεύεσθαι· ταχέως δὲ διεφοίτησε ἀνὰ τὴν πόλιν ἅπασαν ......... φας φήμ[η καὶ] οὐθε[ὶς] ἄλλο οὐδὲν ἐλάλει [ἢ] περὶ τοῦ γάμου. πάντες δὲ ἤχθοντο λογιζόμενοι τὸ περὶ τῆς ἀπειλῆς αὐτῶν ἀπαίδευτον καὶ μάλιστα ὅσοι δύνατοι τῶν πολιτῶν ὑπάρχοντες καὶ αὐτοὶ πολιτεύεσθαι τὴν Χιόνην ἔμελλον μνηστεύεσθαι. οὐ μέντοι γε αὐτῶν τις ἐτόλμα μετ' ἐκείνους αἰτεῖν τὴν κόρην. ἡ δὲ Χιόνη παρὰ τῆς μητρὸς μαθοῦσα ταῦτα οὐκ ετ.
