ἰὼ τέκνον, δυστυχῆ σʼ
ἔτρεφον, ἔφερον ὑφʼ ἥπατος
πόνους ἐνεγκοῦσʼ ἐν ὠδῖσι· καὶ
νῦν Ἅιδας τὸν ἐμὸν
ἔχει μόχθον ἀθλίας,
ἐγὼ δὲ γηροβοσκὸν οὐκ ἔχω, τεκοῦσʼ
ἁ τάλαινα παῖδα.
