Πρώτην δὲ νῦν τοῦ θέρμου στοιχείου μέμνηται, ὃ δὴ φθαρτικῆς ὑπάρχον δυνάμεως δεσμοῖς ὥσπερ τῆς τοῦ θεοῦ βουλῆς πεπέδηται. διήκει γοὖν διὰ πάντων σωμάτων καὶ διὰ πάσης τῶν ζῴων φύσεως καὶ διὰ ξύλων ἐν φυτοῖς ὂν καὶ δι’ ἀνθῶν καὶ διὰ τοῦ ἀέρος τῆς φθαρτικῆς αὐτοῦ δυνάμεως ἐπιλελεσμένον.
