ἦν δὲ αὕτη »παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς« δόξα. ὁρᾷς ὅπως οὐκ εἶπεν· »καὶ ἐθεασάμεθα τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦ, δόξαν ὡς« λόγου, καίτοι προειπὼν »ὁ λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο«, ἀλλ’ ἵνα διδάξῃ ὁποῖον αὐτὸν ὑπεστήσατο λόγον (ὅτι μὴ σημαντικόν· πῶς γὰρ καὶ οἷόν τε ἦν τὸν τοιοῦτον σάρκα γενέσθαι;). ἀναγκαίως μονογενῆ αὐτὸν προσεῖπεν.
