καὶ ἡ μὲν τῆς πρώτης καθ᾿ ἡμῶν γραφῆς τοιαύτη τις ἦν δύναμις. μετ᾿ οὐ πολὺ δὲ ἑτέρων ἐπιφοιτησάντων γραμμάτων προσετάττετο τοὺς τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν προέδρους πάντας πανταχῆ πρῶτον μὲν δεσμοῖς παραδίδοσθαι, εἴθ᾿ ὕστερον πάσῃ μηχανῇ θύειν ἐξαναγκάζεσθαι.
