εἶτα ἐκ τούτων ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀμφὶ τὸν Πάμφιλον μεταβάς, ἀνεδιδάσκετο ὡς ἄρα πρότερον ἤδη πλείστων εἶεν βασάνων πεπειραμένοι· ἄτοπον δὲ εἶναι λογισάμενος ταῖς αὐταῖς αἰκίαις περιβάλλειν τοὺς ἄνδρας καὶ μάταια μοχθεῖν, τοσοῦτον μόνον εἰ κἂν νῦν πειθαρχοῖεν, ἀνεπυνθάνετο, ἀκούσας δὲ παρ' ἑκάστου τὴν ὑστάτην τῆς μαρτυρίας φωνήν, παραπλησίως κεφαλικὴν τιμωρίαν κατ' αὐτῶν ἐξενεγκάμενος ἐπάγει.
