Οὐ γὰρ ἦν ἄξιός τις ἐν τῇ πόλει Ἰουδαίων, ὥς φησιν Εὐσέβιος κεφαλαίῳ ιγʹ Πρὸς Μαρῖνον, τὸ κατὰ τοῦ διαβόλου τρόπαιον, τὸν σταυρὸν βαστάσαι· ἀλλ' ὁ ἐξ ἀγροῦ, ὃς μηδὲν ἐπικεκοινώνηκε τῇ κατὰ Χριστοῦ μιαιφονίᾳ.
