Ὅτι ὁ Διονύσιος τὴν Σιδῶνα κλίνων ἀκολούθως Ὁμήρῳ ἐν τῷ «Σιδωνία θάλασσα», ἐκτείνει μὲν τὸ τῆς ἀρχούσης δίχρονον, συστέλλει δὲ τὸ ο τὸ μετὰ τὴν ἄρχουσαν. Ὁμοίως καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἑξῆς, «Βύβλον τ' ἀγχίαλον καὶ Σιδόνα ἀνθεμόεσσαν.» Οἱ δὲ ὕστερον τὰς ὅλας πλαγίας τῆς Σιδῶνος τῷ ω μεγάλῳ παραληγομένας ἐκφέρουσιν.
