Ὅτι καὶ ἐνταῦθα ἰσθμόν τινα πλατὺν ἱστορεῖ περιεχόμενον ὑπό τε τῆς Προποντίδος καὶ τοῦ Αἰγαίου πελάγους, ὃς ἑῷος μὲν κείμενος πρὸς νότον δὲ καθελκόμενος ἄσπετα φῦλα τῆς Ἀσιάδος γῆς ἀγκαλίζεται, ἐν οἷς εἰσι καὶ Αἰολεῖς καὶ Ἴωνες. Ὅτι τὴν ὑπέρ πρόθεσιν καὶ ἐνταῦθα ἐπὶ τῶν νοτίων τίθησιν, εἰπών «τῆς δ' ὕπερ ἄσπετα φῦλα τιταίνεται πρὸς νότον.» Καὶ ἡ αἰτία προείρηται.
